March 18 – 31: Fiscal Transparency Evaluation

Laura Doherty, Public Financial Management Advisor, conducted a technical assistance mission to undertake a Fiscal Transparency Evaluation (FTE) for Mongolia under the Fiscal Risks project. The mission focused on assessing fiscal transparency practices against the four pillars of the Fiscal Transparency Code, identifying strengths in fiscal reporting, budgeting frameworks, and selected areas of fiscal risk management, while highlighting gaps in medium-term budgeting, fiscal risk analysis, and resource revenue transparency. The authorities reviewed the assessment, supported the identification of reform priorities, and committed to using the findings to inform the update of the public financial management reform roadmap for 2026–30.
