July 21 – 30: Cash and Debt Management (Treasury Modernization Program)
| Sha Wen, CDOT Regional Treasury Advisor, provided technical assistance to support the Vietnam State Treasury (VST) in its transition toward more active cash management. The mission also identified legal and policy constraints that prevent the VST from issuing T-bills for cash management purposes, provided a high level and multi year roadmap for the VST to prepare legally and operationally for issuing T-bills, reviewed the VST’s manual and reports on risk management, and assessed the coordination mechanism between the VST and other agencies. |

| Deon Tanzer, CDOT Government Finance Statistics (GFS) and Public Sector Debt Statistics (PSDS) Advisor, conducted a technical assistance mission on GFS to support the Vietnamese authorities in upgrading the classification procedures of public sector units (PSUs) in line with the GFS Manual 2014 (GFSM 2014) and the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) guidelines. The National Statistic Office (NSO) of Vietnam has started implementing the compilation of comprehensive sector accounts for Vietnam in line with the SNA 2008 to adhere to the IMF Special Data Dissemination Standards by 2030. |
